Support Pat Spearman for Nevada Senate District 1

In Nevada Senate District 1 we have a fellow veteran running for office who has pledged to make veterans one of her most important priorities.  That veteran is Patricia Spearman.

I have been personally frustrated by candidates who are registered as Democrats, but vote like Republicans while in office. John Lee the incumbent in this race has been absent on Veterans issues.  Not once while in office has John Lee reached out specifically to Veterans.

Patricia Spearman spent 30 years in the US Army. She understands the personal sacrifices experienced by our community. I cannot imagine a representative we could have in office who knows more about the challenges faced by returning Veterans. Pat has never stood down from duty. Upon retirement she stepped right in as a pastor to help families. I further admire her intellectual courage to pursue an education that will serve our community well as someone who is ready to research the issues and clearly communicate our priorities.

Please read the LVRJ Profile of Pat Spearman  and see her video on that site. Given 2 minutes to speak she did not overlook Veterans.

Unlike the current incumbent Pat pledges to have regular town hall meetings with constituents and remain available to those who vote her into office. Long hours of school work have given her the skills to read every bill before she votes on it. Pat does not make excuses to justify how others may cut corners. She is a woman who knows how to plan, execute, and complete her mission. I believe she is the most committed, best qualified, candidate to send to the Nevada State Senate  not only from this district. Pat will set an excellent example for our whole state.

Pat has the endorsements of the groups who actively care about Veterans issues in Nevada:

  • International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 357
  • Nevada Advocates for Planned Parenthood Affiliates
  • Nevada Conservation League
  • PLAN Action
  • Southern Nevada Group Toyiabe Chapter Sierra Club

Please visit her website and perhaps consider volunteering some of your time with her campaign even if you do not live in the district. It is time to get more Veterans into office so our causes will not be dropped from the important dialog happening in our country.
